Mentor Insurance is pleased to introduce its President, Eric Rich. Eric graduated from Anderson High School in 2003 before attending Ball State University and graduating in 2007 (B.A. in Business Administration). He started his career in the insurance industry with State Farm offering Auto, Home, and Life insurance solutions. After this introduction to the industry, he wanted to offer a wider variety of solutions and set his sights on the independent agency system. Eric became an Account Manager for an Independent Agency and managed a $5m book of business. His true passion was helping people through his sales role – the process of understanding a client’s unique needs, finding cost-effective options to manage their risk appropriately, and educating them on their policies.
In Eric’s sales role with Indianapolis-based McGowan Insurance Group, Eric initially focused on growing his clientele in his hometown of Madison County. His efforts there proved the need for a highly professional, local option in the community. In 2015, Eric won the Thoroughbred award for writing more business than any Keystone Agent in the state of Indiana. In early 2016, Eric and the Ricker family together birthed a vision of a strong and vibrant insurance firm based in Madison County. In 2017, Mentor Insurance opened its doors in Madison County.
Eric obtained his CAWC (Certified Authority of Workers Compensation) designation in 2015 and is currently pursuing designation as a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). Eric prides himself on being a technician of insurance coverage and a consultant for his clients. His heart is in Madison County and his passion is insurance. When Eric is away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 kids. Ashley, Kaden, Logan, Grayson and Maddison are his inspiration. He also enjoys traveling, community involvement, playing basketball and struggling at golf.
